Her sporty background, having played touch rugby for South Africa for 4 years and KZN provincial hockey for 12 years, gives her a unique appreciation and understanding of the demands that sport puts on the body and how to effectively treat sports related injuries. She completed her Masters thesis in the area of injury prevention as she studied the efficacy of the Functional Movements Screen as a predictor for injury in female field hockey players.
She has a deep appreciation for the human posture and completed a Pilates teachers course in the New York classical style.
Over and above Dr Lees’ interest in treating athletes, she also has a keen interest in family well-being and her practise has quickly developed into a treatment facility for the whole family. Having furthered her studies with certifications in areas of Paediatric chiropractic, her care extends to pregnant women and their newborn babies. She is a mom of three and takes special care of other moms, babies and soon to be moms.
Dr. Lees worked in Vanderbijlpark for three years where she started her private practice. She then moved back to her home town and is now practicing in Kloof, Durban. Serving the community she grew up in.
